Advice to performers
We prefer you to play a non-examination piece, but you may play an examination piece
if you have nothing else ready to perform. Please note you may play only one piece (rule 8)
Woodwind or brass players should warm up outside the hall a few minutes ahead of their
performance.
If you are a string, woodwind or brass player, please check your tuning before you go on
stage, and then tune with the piano before you start to perform. This will not be counted as
part of your performance time.
Please don’t wear your school uniform!
Please bow to the audience after your performance.
Teachers and Parents/Guardians:
Please read the rules of the competition very carefully, particularly with regard to
accompanists (Rule 9) and music copies (Rules 13 and 14).
